The things we keep in the family through generations are the link to the past and what we do during our time together builds a bridge for future generations
Born in Saigon, Vietnam but lived most of my life in Florida. I am a big foodie and believer that food can bring anyone together. Some of my most memorable moments with my family were when we came together for an occasion and gathered around with food being the centerpiece. My value and obsession with creating opportunities for families to express themselves most genuinely has led me down the path of photography.
My grandmother was the first person to introduce me to photography (Though I didn’t pick up Photography until my late 20’s) and taught me the value of keeping and cherishing photos. Even after her passing I still extend her values through my work to others through my creative art.
After picking up my first camera and taking pictures for my family during holidays and birthdays I quickly realized I had a passion for photography. I loved seeing spontaneous moments happen accompanied by timeless expressions. Being able to freeze those moments in time was the most rewarding thing to me.
Why Mochi (Mochi is a Japanese Dessert with a chewy and smooth texture - traditionally with red bean paste as the filling)? It’s the first dessert I’ve ever made for my family and they loved it so much that I started making it annually during Christmas! Mochi holds a special place in my heart and represents the tender and sweet moments in my life when my family looked forward to eating it.
I want to put my passion through your photos so when you look back on these pictures you feel the same nostalgia and emotions I do when I open my family album.
