Okada Couple Photoshoot in Ocala, Florida (Baseline Trailhead)

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to do a photoshoot session for the Okada couple at Ocala, Florida Baseline Trailhead Park even though it came with some challenges. Not only did it rain recently, but there were also a lot of people in the park that day. Here is how I navigated the photo shoot from the physical session itself to the post-editing.

With an overcast above us due to the recent rain, I was unable to get the sunset kiss I wanted from the images, but it did come with the advantage of soft lighting. The biggest challenge came from the sky not having much detail at all so I had to improvise in post-editing. My clients were amazing and did each pose/prompt without my issue and were able to get into the mood as well during the shoot which is what I strive for.

To combat the lack of sunset from the photoshoot session I decided to have more of a portrait-style photoshoot to try to avoid the dull sky in the background.

In post-editing, I did what I could to recover the highlights in the sky and adjust the colors to resemble the sunset. My goal was to make a dramatic look for the photos on top of preserving the gentle-loving nature of the couple.

Moving forward I will practice more under these conditions since where I live has seasons in which it will rain multiple times a week before/during golden hour.

Overall Baseline Trailhead in Ocala, Florida is a must-see if you're in the area! It is an amazing park for children and adults alike. There are so many spots for photography from an open-wide area to a canopy of trees.
